About me

Nothing terribly fancy here; just an "ordinary joe" so to speak. I have a variety of interests and consider myself a literate and reasonably intelligent guy. Have a decent job; am not starving. I love the Cubs; the Packers; and Iowa Hawkeyes; but sports doesn't rule my life. It is entertainment and is treated as such. As earlier stated; I have a wide variety of interests; so don't be scared off by the sports thing. While I consider myself a down to earth Midwesterner; I am not afraid to go to a big city to visit and do "classy things. But I still feel that "Midwest is best". Maybe because I'm a lifer here. Am willing to relocate for the optimum conditions; however. Let's talk!

About you

My ideal lady should be down to earth; at least reasonably intelligent; maybe like to jump in the car and take a day trip for no apparent reason except that we can; not be snobbish. And life is too short to be complaining all the time; so upbeat is nice too. We all have good days as well as bad; so she should be a good listener; which ties into being a good conversationalist. I am a non smoker and would prefer the same; but it's not an absolute must. You should not mind if your mate may go out for a few beers and watch a little football; baseball or whatever sometimes. Conversely; I should not mind if she were to go out sometimes with her lady friends. Tolerance. We have to be able to give each other space while still sharing space; if that makes any sense. Not sure if any two people are an "exact" match; but that's all right. We should all be able to tolerate each others differences; foibles if you will; and learn and grow from others. Having said that; I also am not sure if the old saying; "opposites attract" is true either. If interested; let's just see where life can take us.
