About me

My name is Douglas. I'm a terrific mountain bike rider; I play basketball well and can slam-dunk the ball. I'm liberally educated; I have earned over 200 semester hour credits; and am preparing to complete my BA degree in Business Administration. My IQ is about 2 SD's above average. I'm an Air Force brat; as my father spent 21 years in that branch of our military. I traveled the United States (38 states) and the world (8 countries) with my family. I was raised by my parents in a nuclear family; a good; active church-going LDS family; although my scientific training and personal experiences have influenced me to deeply question and radically change my belief system. I live by Utilitarian and Kantian principles; in that I seek to cause the greatest good for the most people in my choices. I treat people as ends; not as means. I consider what the world would be like if everyone universally lived by these rules. Ten years ago I was sentenced to prison for up to 15 years. I still live in Gunnison; Utah; at the Central Utah Correctional Facility. I recently wrote the story about the events leading up to my crime; what I did; and what I've done since. My step-mom; Cindy; will be happy to send you a copy of this story if you are interested in reading it. As far as I can tell; as prisons go; this place is more like "Camp Snoopy;" or "Prisonyland." =o) It's not a rough; hard place. The guards are mostly local farmers; or farmers' kids; who needed some extra money. They send easy-going guys like me down here; because we're so mellow; and don't cause any trouble to speak of. I live with college students; and laid-back "lifers." I'm well-liked by the guards and inmates; and get along well with everyone. I have happy cellmates; and have had very few of them; because I'm good to live with: kind; respectful; accommodating; understanding; fun and funny; smart; helpful; and clean. I enjoy lifting weights 5 days a week. I play basketball 3 days a week. I read textbooks for fun. I'm an academic; and will talk to anyone about anything. I think I'm interesting and write a good letter. I'm interested in enriching my life and your life with a mutual correspondence. My weakest point is spelling---I've worked to improve; but have much work to do yet. I really; really would like to get to know some interesting women out there; I'd like to make really good friends with one woman. I have many interesting male friends in here. That could sound weird; so I'll say I'm a firm heterosexual; but with limited experience---I've had only one partner. I have an honest and faithful character.

She enjoys thinking. She wants to write about everything in this world; and more. She was raised on books; not television. She enjoys new ideas; and thrills to know more about her place here in this life. She is open-minded...not empty-headed. She eschews fashion statements; and craves modesty. She is a real woman; not a man in women's clothing like we see so much of today.
